When it comes to doing SEO for Google then we get loads of articles, blog posts and other content on how we can optimize the website and get better rankings and traffic. But when it comes to optimizing the website for Bing then we have very less information from people on internet or World Wide Web (WWW).


Recently, Duane Forrester Senior Product Manager of Bing’s Webmaster Program organized a webinar on crawling basics. In this webinar he described factors Bing considers important before ranking any website for a particular search term.

Content is King: A lot of fresh and unique content is important for crawlers of Bing.

XML Sitemaps and RSS Feeds: Bing insists on using error free sitemap.xml. XML sitemap should not have URLs leading to 404 pages; Bingbot might ignore whole sitemap if it finds even one URL leading to 404 errors. RSS feeds are more important for Bing, by RSS feeds Bingbot will get update about latest content coming on website.

Robots.txt: In a survey conducted by Bing they found that most of the websites which Bingbot cannot crawl don’t have correct robots.txt file. They found that these websites have blocked crawlers from indexing the websites. So, check your robots.txt before doing SEO for the website.

Bounce Rate: Bing also considers bounce rate as a major ranking factor. If they find that most of the visitors are leaving a page before spending certain amount of time on that page, then they may rank down the website. So, keep a check on your bounce rate also. Make your website engaging enough for the visitors.

Bing Webmaster Tools: Finally, if you want to rank well on Bing then you should start using Bing webmaster tool. Benefits of using Bing Webmaster Tool are that you can have a better control on your website when it comes to indexing in Bing. Besides using an array of SEO tools like keyword research, back-link analysis etc. you can submit sitemaps, control robots.txt, URL parameters etc.

Meta codes optimization for seo in blogger Latest Tricks

I have written many articles about seo in my blog and all of them works. As seo is very important for blog and website therefore a successful blogger is that who focuses on his blog's seo. Seo includes links optimization, images optimization, post title optimization, tags optimization, post description etc. One important thing for seo is meta codes in blog. With codes you can tell robots about your blog and according to this info they index your blog for example if you want robots to follow and index you blog posts you have to add a meta code for that. 

So it is also very important for seo. You can find meta codes for blogger in other blogs and sites but they are without explanation, you won't understand how does these codes work. Here in this post I will explain function of each code along with how to add your content keywords,info,data etc. So lets begin, I am starting from meta title as it is the first code, but before that I will tell you where to add the meta codes:

Adding meta codes in blogger:

As we know that all codes of a blog are stored in its templates e.g gadgets codes, ad codes, customization codes so the meta tags are also added in blog template. To add meta code firstgo to your blog, click on template, edit Html, in the Html page click anywhere the Html,search for <head> and paste all meta codes just below it.

Meta title: 
Meta title tells robots and crawlers about title of your blog, you can increase your blog traffic by adding keywords of your content in this code. Copy the below code and follow above paragraph to add it in your blog:

Replace Write here with the title of your blog, try to add keywords of your content so that it help search engines to show results and may be your blog also appear due to keywords in title for example: For 101Helper I have written title 101Helper | Blogger tips,tricks,widgets,tutorials,seo as it explains my blog so now if someone search for blogger seo or blogger tips and tricks my blog will appear in search results.

Meta description:
Meta description helps you to give a summery of your blog's content to search engines, if your blog doesn't have a meta description then there is no chance for your blog to appear in searchresults as it also helps in appearing blogs or sites in search results because when
a search is made in Google it highlights some words either in title or in description so its also helpful to gain more traffic. Replace Write here with your blog's description try to add keywords in this code to get more traffic:

Meta Keywords:

Meta keywords code holds your content's keywords. It helps search engines to crawl your posts as search engines encounters keywords in a blog. You can add meta code for keywords by copying below code, replace write your keywords here with your contents keywords. Don't add alot of keywords, try to use high value keywords 30-34 keywords are recommended. For example if your blog is about seo then use seo, seo tips, seo latest tips, seo tips for blogs, seo tips 100% working, Google seo tips etc.

Meta Language:

It informs robots about your blog language. If your blog language then copy the below code and paste it directly but if your blog has other languages also such as Portuguese, russian, french etc the use come(,) to separate them. Meta code for language is given below:

It tells robots and crawlers about blog author or website author. Replace 101Helper with your own author name:

Meta Robots:

There are two different codes for robots. One code tells robots that they are allowed to crawl your pages and the other tells them to index and follow your posts. In first code I have written all which means that all robots(Google, bing, yahoo etc) are allowed to crawl pages and in the second code I have indicated to index and follow my blog. Copy the codes below to help robots crawl, index and follow your blog:

Meta Audience:
It indicates that what should be the age of people who can surf on your blog. I have written all but if your blog has a content for only +18 or +19 you can add it in the code:

How to optimize internal links for seo in blogger

Internal linking is a very important thing for seo. Internal linking means to interlink previous posts with new posts. Some bloggers do this by adding a related post gadget either a simple or with thumbnails while some do this by adding link of old posts in new posts. Like internal links external links are also part of a post. After linking another thing comes which is specifying the links. A link could be specified in two ways as there are two types of links e.g internal and external.

Previously I had published an article about adding rel="nofollow" to external links it was to tell robots and crawlers not to follow these links similarly to tell robots to follow your internal links you have to specify it in their language. It will increase chances of your post's links to appear in search results more frequently. So this post is to tell you how can you optimize internal links for better seo but before learn that you have to learn how to do that? well it is similar to rel="nofollow" but you have to make a little change that is to replace rel="nofollow" with rel="dofollow". When a link is specified by rel="dofollow" then humans and robots both are able to follow that link but when rel="nofollow" attribute is added to a link then only humans and able to follow that link.

Difference between dofollow and nofollow links:
Nofollow links attribute do not let search engine bots to follow links. It mean if a site owner is linking a post back with previous post using nofollow attribute, he is not allowing robots to follow that link. Only humans will be able to follow that link. Some time back Google made it clear that they do not consider nofollow link attributes but weight of such links is very less. An example of such links is given below:

Dofollow links allow both humans and search engine robots to follow the links. If a webmaster add rel="dofollow" to links, he is allowing robots to follow that link. Example of dofollow link is shown below:

How to create a dofollow link?
Its very easy to create a dofollow link. A dofollow link can be created in two ways one is to add rel="dofollow" in the link as shown in above example another way is to leave it as it is mean if you want a link to be followed don't do anything leave it simple as the first example of dofollow links.


How to create dofollow links in posts?
Well its same as explained in the above paragraph. When you enter a link in the post by usinglink in the tools, at the same time back hand work goes on in the Html tab of the post writing area. For example you are adding a link http://www.google.com then in the Html tab it will be <a href="http://www.google.com"> target="_blank"</a> Now if you add rel="nofollow" attribute at the time of adding link in the post then it won't be followed by bots so avoid checking the rel="nofollow" attribute. To add a do follow link leave it simple(don't do anything just add a link only) or switch to Html tab find the link which you added by using Ctrl+F on your keyboard and after finding the link just add rel="dofollow" beforetarget="_blank". Note that target="_blank" means that the link will open in new tab and it will only be included in the link if you check open in new tab option while adding the link.

Keyword stemming is a word that should be highlighted in the minds of everyone who plan to build a website on their own and look forward to succeed in the highly competitive area. Before we start talking about keyword stemming, we should gather a clear idea on what a keyword is. It is nothing else other than the word that we search for, and keyword stemming is bringing up the variants for the keyword by adding prefixes or suffixes to it. It is also done by stripping the suffixes or prefixes. It is a technique used by the search engines. Algorithms for keyword stemming have been studied in the field of computer science since 1968, says Wikipedia. The first ever published stemmer was written by Julie Beth. That was also in 1968.

Keyword stemming is the process of generating new words from the same root word.

The Process of Generating New Words

The new word is generated with the help of the following options:-

Adding a prefix to the word
Example:- Adding "en" to the word "large" makes it "enlarge".

Adding a suffix to the word
Example:- Adding "ful" to the word "sorrow" makes it "sorrowful".

Pluralizing the word
Example:- Adding "ies" to the word "baby" makes it "babies".

This process helps webmasters and search engine optimizers to generate more traffic by creating words that are similar to their base keyword. Words generated with the help of the base word or stem are treated as synonyms by the search engines. For this reason, keyword stemming helps a web page to achieve greater relevance for search terms without the use of spamming.

Stemming can be explained by the following simple example. If flowering is your keyword, words like flowery, flowerlike, flower etc. will be identified with it.
